Data We Collect in the App

• User content: Your notes (Echo), saved links, checklists, reminders, and voice recordings — stored locally on your device.
• Link metadata: When you add a URL, Linkscript may fetch publicly available metadata (title, description, preview image) from the target site to display a helpful preview.
• Permissions: Microphone (to record voice notes), Internet (to fetch link metadata), and optionally Storage (to attach images to notes). All permissions are requested only when needed.

Data We Collect on This Website

On this website, we record anonymous visit data such as:

• Browser type and version
• Country and city (from IP address)
• Pages visited
• Referrer URL (where visitors came from)
• Approximate visit counts

Important: We do not collect or store any personal information. IP addresses are hashed (anonymized) and we never store full IP addresses. This data is only used to understand how people use our site.

How We Use Data

In the App: We use data only to provide app features:

• Store and display your Echo entries, links, and checklist items.
• Fetch link metadata to create previews (title, image, description).
• Enable voice recording and playback on your device.
• Set reminders and notifications for your notes and links.

On the Website: We use anonymous visit data only to understand how people use our site and improve the user experience.

Data Storage & Privacy

App Data: Your data is stored locally on your device. All your notes, links, checklists, and reminders remain on your device and are never sent to our servers.

Website Data: Anonymous visit data is stored on our server in log files. This data never leaves our server and is not shared with third parties. IP addresses are hashed (anonymized) for privacy.

Voice Data: Voice recordings and transcriptions are processed entirely on your device. Your audio and transcriptions are not sent or stored by Linkscript.

Sharing & Third Parties

App Sharing: Sharing is user-initiated only. When you share a note or saved link via your device's share sheet (for example, WhatsApp or Email), the selected external app receives the content and handles it under its own privacy policy.

We do not publish or make your content available to other Linkscript users unless you explicitly share it yourself.

Website: We do not share website analytics data with third parties. All data remains on our server.

Security

Your app data is stored on your device with appropriate security controls. Website analytics data is stored securely on our server and is not accessible to third parties.

App Permissions

• Microphone: Used only to record voice notes. Requested when you tap record. Voice processing happens entirely on your device.
• Internet: Used only to fetch metadata for user-supplied links (title, description, preview image).
• Storage (optional): Used to attach images to notes.
• Notifications: Used to send reminders for your notes and links. All reminders are set locally on your device.

Children

Linkscript is intended for adults and not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
